But ever since switching to using Bing (and, of course, taking some time to get used to things like font differences), I haven't felt a degradation in my search experience - and an improvement in some ways! I occasionally check Google when Bing doesn't give me the results I expect, but more often than not I find that Google doesn't do any better (of course, sometimes it does do better on certain queries). I'm sure there are many places it can improve still, too. It's certainly true that it's come a long way and it's significantly better than before - there were certainly certain dimensions along which Bing lagged Google in terms of search quality in the past. People had heard "Bing's not cool" almost ten years ago and haven't bothered to check back with fresh eyes very often. To me it seems like Bing got some bad branding when it initially started and it has stuck ever since.
